So what you all think... I think we should use to speak english only on the server ... I think on IRC its no problem. There ppl can speak all languages. But ppl are so seperated with their dialogs if they only speak their languages dunno.

PS: watch the new amazing smileys :microwelle: :metalrider: :toilet4: :vikin5: and so on =D

loving the smileys ^^ :laserbeam:

i voted english/german, simply because i know i understand those languages, and everyone in dtg speaks at least one of them.
i'm quite happy though for it to expand to english, german, french and swedish, cause other members e.g este lle and heddiz, speak them and its probably easier for them ^^.
overall, perhaps, it should be limited to the languages of the DTG members playing XD

Hi guys,
my two cents :

Allow all languages to be freely spoken on the server.

First of all, whatever you do, people will speak foreign on the server. Some even do it BECAUSE there's a rule against it. However, most do it, in my opinion, because it's always a pleasure to find another player who speaks a language you speak. I think most players love to chat with each other once they've met face to face a couple of times on the battlefield and shared some intense and fun moments. It's even better when they share a language too.

About the "he could be insulting others and we wouldn't know" : why would we care? who cares about a pissed off player insulting others in swahili or polish?
But mostly, this doesn't happen : most of the time, when someone is speaking foreign, it's to another player who understands him. If someone wants to insult another one and not to be heard, why even type?

Another thing : some players are just not good in english (or german), and having them speak english is the same as having them shut up. This is a pity, especially for kids who didn't learn yet (and there are some playing, and even good ones at that), or others who just can't speak english properly. Just allow them to speak what they can when they can't speak english. I've seen Heddiz once allow a spanish-only speaking player to speak spanish and explain his case : the kid just wanted to know if he could bring in another spanish friend, and if they could be allowed to speak spanish to each other, as they didn't speak english at all. Heddiz told him it was allright, and i really appreciated it. Why not make this tolerant way of handling things the rule?

The only ones that may ever complain about people speaking foreign are either :
- admins who think it's an appropriate time to remind players of the rules...
- whiners who know they could get a player kicked or banned for that if they whine enough to an admin. Whining (same goes for "no camping", but that's another topic i think) should not be encouraged.

In the facts, as long as no one is complaining about it, it's all right to speak whatever you want, and that's great. I don't think it really bothers most players, having some people chatting in a language they don't understand. Also, it shows how a world game it is, and how tolerant Die Tunichtguten server is. I know i'll still be able to chat in french with DTG Estelle or NFC Oxyd, or in spanish with DTG pimpampum or TBC Buzanitoo, or even in japanese with DTG Mattias from time to time, even if a rule states only english and german are the allowed languages.

That rule is not just as cool as everything else about DTG server. I think you should just get rid of it.

Arikel

ok you are right i switch back to all languages. But i think ppls from clans should know to speak english else they cannot become a respectable clan. I had this situation, that Bernard made a clan called Legend with his friends. I told him to put his clan on the chellangeable clanlist, but he didnt understand. So i told the same stuff to his clanmate. He understood and made a translation to Bernard. They still not on that list so i think some informations got lost. I think for clanppl there is a must to speak english! Some ppl need a pressure to leearn english so i thought the language rule is the right way :D. Other thing is that estelle speaks more french with other ppl on the server as with her own clan :D She could be better in english if she had a pressure too i think =D.

Lol n1ce votestate atm

only english 33%
english/german 33%
all languages 33%

this becomes hard :p
